PTFE Rod

PTFE rod is a high-performance fluoropolymer stock shape with excellent chemical resistance, a low coefficient of friction, strong electrical insulation and reliable performance across a wide temperature range. It is suitable for machining seals, bushings, valve components and other custom precision parts.

Description

Filled PTFE
Depending on application requirements, fillers can be added to PTFE in controlled proportions. Filled PTFE retains the inherent properties of virgin PTFE while improving hardness, wear resistance, creep resistance, compressive strength, flexural strength, thermal conductivity and dimensional stability. Common fillers include glass fiber, graphite, carbon fiber, molybdenum disulfide, silica, copper powder, polyphenylene terephthalate and polyether ether ketone (PEEK).

Modified PTFE
Modified PTFE is produced by adjusting the molecular structure of polytetrafluoroethylene. This can improve resistance to cold flow, reduce permeability to chemicals and gases, and enhance weldability while retaining the key properties of PTFE. It is suitable for demanding applications where safety and reliability are critical.
